Know What to Say
Have you ever been in a meeting where you felt rushed or unheard? Knowing how to present clear and concise information about your child is one of the best skills you can have.
It's a good idea to keep complete and detailed records about your child and the brain injury. We call this the "Big List," and you'll find a form for downloading in the Useful Tools section. But, how much information is "too much" when you're meeting with your child's teacher? Your list needs to be shortened to the essentials. If you present too much information, you can run out of time or inadvertently overload the teacher.
On the next page is an example of someone's Big List. Let's see how well you can edit it down to what's essential. Click Next.
